clamhunting! 海の恵み探し

My work today was planting potatoes.

Dig holes as deep as I can (bothered by stones :P), put baby potatoes.

I felt like they were my babies so I put soil as a blanket 😌

I wish they grow well...

it’s though work still.

I couldn’t enjoy as I expected yet, honestly.

But I’m very satisfied day by day. Getting used to the work.

The life here is the best.

I could see the sea so long.

It’s very beautiful.

I can see the bottom of the sea, seaweeds are dancing under the sea.

It’s a shallow beach so it’s more fun to see than the deep sea.

This is not harvesting time so there’s only me as wwoofer at this moment.

It’s easy and nice to have my own room.

But sometimes I want to have an accompany to work with.

Good to have conversations while working.

Well, then Lorand came to work for a while!

He lives in the city so not staying here.

Today he invited me to go clams hunting!

What a nice invitation!

Soundes so fun. Like an adventure.

We took a bike to get there.

My host mother lend me it but it’s a bit higher than my height 😂

I couldn’t sit on a seat.

It’s very tough you know!

I was standing and moving legs all way.

I forgot how to move ahead sometimes when I was exhausted.

started to hunt!

Found a hole and dig dig dig...

We found many worms in mud...

I didn’t think there were worms under the sea.

The mud is dark inside.

Really muddy.

To be honest.

We couldn’t find clams.

But it’s okay!

I didn’t expect to find those.

It’s more about learning.

I feel sorry to worms to bother them...

But soon it will be covered again by water so better than digging soil and leaving it.

It’s really fun also.

The scenery is beautiful from water.

My boots have holes so I even felt cold water! Super cold! I was a bit freezing.

But the art of the sea is amazing.

I really wanna do it again.

On a way back, I borrowed his bike. We exchanged so I could have a seat!

It’s nice to ride a bike here.

Feel the air, move slowly so I can see beautiful scenery.

There are other bikes at home so I hope there’s one in good size for me.

Then I can go to a short trip by a bike and discover more Kvaløya!

At the end of the day, chilling and writing this outside.

What a lovely days...

今日はじゃがいもを植えたよ。

棒を使って、ひたすら深く深く穴を掘る。

そしてじゃがいもを植える。

なんとまあ単純にして、辛い作業よ…

そりゃ腰も曲がるよ。

枯れた野菜たちをずっと放ってるから、さっさと抜いちゃえばいいのにーと思ってたら、その抜いた直後の穴が役に立つ！

それから、同じ種類の野菜を昨年と同じ場所に植えないためにも分かりやすい。

今はまだ収穫の時期ではなく、地味な仕事が多いし、まだまだ緑も出てきてないから地味なのよね。

そのせいか、ウーファーは私ひとりしかいなくて、作業の終わりが果てしない。

やってもやっても、終わる気がしない。

でも今日は、中心地に住んでいるローランが手伝いに来てくれた。

彼はオーストリア出身の、恐らく22歳前後でめちゃ若い、フードプロデューサー。自称。

消費者とエコロジーファームを繋ぎたいと話してくれた。まさに私が気になることだ！

彼は、北の最果て、スヴォールバル島でもファームステイしたらしい。そこではグリーンハウスを使って、野菜を育てていたんだって。

さらに、仕事後には、貝拾いにも連れて行ってくれた。

ホストマザーに自転車を借り、いざ！

と意気込んだものの、まさかのサドルが高すぎてペダルに足が届かず。

その場で無理だと言えば良かったんだけど、まあいけるっしょーと、立ち漕ぎで進む事に。

めっっちゃ疲れた！

アップダウンが多くて、もう最後の方、どうやって漕いだらいいかもよく分からないほどに。

足の動きが、私の脳の理解を超えた。

勝手に動いてた。笑

今日、食べすぎたなーとか思ったけど、おかげさまで今すごくお腹空いてる。笑

やっとの思いで着いた浜辺。

水の中を、どんどこ進んでゆく。

これが超楽しい！

水の中を歩くなんて非日常。

浅くはった水の中をチャプチャプしながら進んでいく…

穴を見つけては掘ってみる。

出てくるのはみみず。

海にみみず。

まさかお前こんな所にいたとは…

畑じゃ全然見なかったのに！

貝は結局一個も取れなかったけど、楽しかった！

景色が本当に最高！

水の音も最高！

スーパーリラックス。

遠くにはトロムソの空港の光がみえる。

その奥では夕日に照らされた山がみえる。

海の真ん中に、島があった。

そこにいこうとしたら長靴に穴が開いてたらしく、水が浸入してきたので断念！

だけどローランはそこにどうしても行きたいらしく、「僕が背負ったら、あそこまでいける？」と…。

えーよえーよ、行こう！

私重いから、歩くよ！

って事で、トロムソのむっちゃ冷たい水を直に感じながら、海を渡る…

寒かったー

でも楽しかった！

彼はそこが世界の果てみたいだと喜んでた。

ひとりじゃ絶対こんなところに来なかったから、シーズンオフに来ちゃったけど、ローランがいて良かったなあ。

どこに行っても友達ができることが嬉しい。

Værøyでもkvaløyaでも私を見かけて、話しかけてくれる人がいるって素敵。

出会いに今日も感謝。

Værøyのみんなは元気かなあ？

また遊びに行きたいなあ…

帰りは自転車を交換してもらって、快適だった。自転車いいねえ

車だと見逃してしまう景色もみれる。

風を感じることもできる。

ちゃんとした自転車ならアップダウンもそこまで辛く感じないし。笑

自転車でぐるっとまわりたいなあ…
